The Aircraft

RAAF 3 Squadron P-51 Mustang, Hobby Master HA7737. RAAF began converting from the P-40 to the P-51 on 13 November, 1944 while in Italy, becoming the first RAAF squadron to use Mustangs.

These aircraft were painted with RAF markings.

The rudder was pained with the Southern Cross in blue.
